James Winton Martin, Jr., age 75, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at his home.

Born August 28, 1949, in Orangeburg, SC, he was the son of the late James Winton Martin, Sr. and Dorothy Peeples Martin, of Winnsboro, SC.

James was a graduate of Clemson University and served in the National Guard. He was an avid Clemson Tigers fan and hunter. But what he loved most of all was spending time with his family, especially his sons and grandchildren as they brought him great joy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Sheila Scott Martin; sons, Corey D. Scott (Kelli) and Michael Jason Scott (Jennifer) both of Anderson; sisters, Sara "Sally" M. Smith of Easley and Emily "Em" M. Hackle (Robert) of Easley; and grandchildren, Mikey Scott, Braelin Scott, Tyler Scott, Addelyn Scott, and Jaxson Scott all of Anderson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 6, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 pm and Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 pm at the home, 221 Peninsula Dr., Anderson, SC 29626. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
