James Richard Martin
July 1, 1946 - October 25, 2025
James Richard Martin, a lifelong Georgia Tech fan and devoted family man, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 79.
James was known for his love of softball and his spirited devotion to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. His passion for sports and his good-natured personality brought joy to those around him.
He is survived by his daughter, Christi Bain; his brother, Joe Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews, who will cherish his memory.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Martin; his sister, Frances Wright; his mother, Mary Frances Moulton Martin; and his father, Albert Martin Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors.
James will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the love he shared with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest making donations to the American Cancer Society.
