I appreciated his exceptional devotion to his faith and the dignity of all human life. He was a model for all men to follow. I am so glad that I got to know him, at least a little. May God bless him and his beautiful family. He will be missed.

I have fond memories of being with Jim and Mary Ellen at New Horizons in Marion, IN. Jim was always so supportive and kind. David and I had the privilege of visiting their home and attending their church. I know Jim will be missed by his many friends and family.

James and Mary Ellen Mason became role models for Vickie and me. We want to be like them. I am especially grateful for the music lessons that James passed on to me in person, in his backyard. We met in 2018 when they began serving as coaches and mentors for Birth of a Family. It was a really special fit. Birth of a Family participants tended toward the younger side and many faced pretty big challenges. James and Mary Ellen were the senior mentors who were also very cool people. Some of my fondest memories are the times we spent in fellowship with Birth of a Family participants in their back yard. These were special times when people who may otherwise have never mingled, we able to experience the love of Christ through James and Mary Ellen's humble but rich hospitality, wisdom and light-hearted but meaningful mentoring and support. Sometimes we never really know the impact we have on people when we love them and show them graceful hospitality---Especially coming from humble men of great stature like Jim Mason. He left his imprint on me. I look up to him, even now. Father, Thank you for letting me know Jim and Mary Ellen. Our lives, and many other lives, are enriched and I am personally inspired by Jim Mason to strive to be a Godly man such as he has been in my life. Stuart and Vickie Carver

I got to know Jim while he and Mary Ellen were mentors for our Birth of a Family group. Jim had such a heart for the hurting families. Jim was not judgmental but encouraged the participants to surrender to Jesus and live a faith filled life. All participants respected and loved both Jim and Mary Ellen. A life lived well for Christ. Jim will be missed.
