James Matherly Obituary
He was born on June 28, 1940, in Beckley, WV, the son of the late Virgil and Ruth Tolliver Matherly. James had a fulfilling career as a retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service. In his leisure time, he found joy in walking, caring for animals, and singing. A devoted fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Sr James also proudly served his country in the US Air Force.
James is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Kay Bailey Matherly; daughters, Belinda Booth (Gary), Toni McCall; step-daughter Angela Pettry (Richard); grandson Richard Pettry II (Krystal); great-grandchildren Eden and Lilli; as well as brothers-in-law Russell Bailey, Woody Bailey (Peggy), and Charles Bailey (Patty).
A celebration of James' life will be held at a later date.
