Michael Calvin Mudd

Michael Mudd, 36, passed away suddenly at home on February 20, 2026. Born December 14, 1989 in Beckley, WV to Marion S Mudd Jr and Patricia E Posey-Ford.

Michael was an extremely intelligent young man. He loved sports especially football and baseball. He was a huge Greenbay Packers fan. He liked to cut up and laugh and was the life of the party. There was no one he wouldn't help out if he was able to. His laughter will be missed. He is missed dearly by his nieces and nephews whom he called Bighead.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marion S Mudd Sr. and Margaret S. Foley Mudd, Julian C. Ward Sr. and Margaret E Ruff Ward; his aunt Linda Cusson, and uncles Julian Ward Jr, Dale Ward, Kenneth Ward, Ricky Ward.

He is survived by his parents Marion S. Mudd Jr. and Patricia Posey- Ford (Armistead); sisters Margaret McGrath (Joshua), Mary Mudd- Schrader ( Wesley ); special cousins who were raised as his sister and brother Mandi Ward and Kenneth Ward, II, (Tia Dawn), his nieces and nephews Patrick Mudd, Dakota McGrath, Madyson Wriston, Ellie McGrath, Elijah Jenkins, Gracelyn McGrath, and Asher McGrath. Bonus nieces Anjanique Bradley, Sy'ara Bradley; Bonus great neices, Aleigha-Dawn Ward, Kendyl Ward, Isabella Ward which Mike nicknamed Izzy days before he passed and Zaylei- Ann Blackburn. A host of aunts uncles, cousins and friends.

Michael's services will be March 7, 2026 at the Gatewood Brethern Church in Fayetteville, WV with the Pastor Scott Lester officiating. The family will receive friends and guests at 11:00 a.m. with the service following at 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ward II, Joshua McGrath, Wesley Schrader, Dakota McGrath, Patrick Mudd, Asher McGrath and Daz Martin.
