James Fredrick Matthiesen, 85, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, in Pasco, Washington. Born on December 19, 1938, in Seattle, Washington, he was the beloved son of Reuben and Almeda Matthiesen.
James proudly served in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and commitment to his country. He was married to the love of his life, Linda Matthiesen, on February 25, 1967, and together they built a beautiful life. For 46 years, James made the Tri-Cities his home, where he became a well-respected business owner, operating J & L Hydraulics.
A passionate motorcyclist, James was a proud member of the Retro Riders Motorcycle Club and cherished his time spent riding his BSA motorcycle. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing poker, relishing every moment spent with family and friends.
James is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his son, Bill Matthiesen; his daughter, Lorri Ledgerwood; his brother, Bob Matthiesen; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Almeda and his brother, Bill Matthiesen.
A Graveside service will be held in his honor on November 8, 2024, at 1 PM at Columbia River Gardens Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at 8913 W. Maple Drive, Pasco, WA. Please consider sending flowers to honor James's memory.
James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
