James Maxwell Obituary
Max enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing and hunting. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Verret Maxwell; sons, Nicholas Maxwell and Mathew Maxwell; 3 grandchildren; stepchildren, Errol Malbrough (Tammy), Case Malbrough (Debbie) and Glen Malbrough (Toni); step-grandchildren, Mason, Brock (Kayli), Quinn, Lacie, Angel and Alexis; step-great-grandsons, Oliver and Liam; brother, John Layden Jr.; and 2 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Beer; sister, Margie.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Samart Funeral Home (4511 West Park Ave., Gray) from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A religious service will begin at 5:30 PM.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
