James A. McKniff, Jr.

James A. “Jimmy” McKniff, Jr., age 80, of Swarthmore, PA, passed away on February 15, 2025. Born in Upland, PA, he was the son of the late Genevieve (nee Caden) and James A. McKniff, Sr.

Jimmy was the beloved husband of Margaret (nee Anderson) McKniff; loving father of Lisa Ellis (the late Tom) and the late James J. McKniff (Liz); adoring grandfather of Bryan McKniff (Mary), Matthew McKniff (Babz), and Shelby Brumfield (Josh). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings, Jean Bugey, Mary Ann Flater, Skip Yigna, and Donna McKniff.

A devoted husband for 60 blissful years, Jimmy exemplified the meaning of partnership and loyalty. His marriage was a testament to a life well-lived alongside his beloved spouse, an unbreakable bond that flourished through time and tribulation. Together, they shared laughter, joy, and countless adventures that brought depth to their journey.

Jimmy’s heart swelled with pride as he reveled in the joys of his family, his grandchildren were, indeed, the light of his life, bringing him boundless joy and a myriad of cherished moments. He embraced every opportunity to revel in their accomplishments and share in their dreams, leaving an indelible mark on their lives that will resonate for generations.

A lover of the sea, Jimmy found solace and exhilaration in boating, where the melodies of the waves echoed his spirit. His passion for cars mirrored a similar enthusiasm, each vehicle reflecting not just a mode of transport, but a slice of his vibrant personality. His fondness for Ocean City, Maryland, provided a sanctuary for family gatherings and joyous escapades, where endless laughter would fill the air.

Family and friends are invited to Jimmy’s Visitation 12:00-1:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Ave, Morton, PA 19070, followed by his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment Private.
