James Everett McWhorter, affectionately known as Jym, passed away on September 12, 2025. Born in Canton, OH, on November 16, 1964, James lived a life filled with love, laughter, and loyalty. He was a pillar of the Coshocton, Ohio community, where he resided for 4 years and made countless unforgettable memories. James' humor, thoughtfulness, and unwavering loyalty made him a beloved figure, his laughter was a symphony that filled the hearts of all who knew him.

Known for his hard work and dedication as a hog farmer, James was a man who found joy in the simplicity of life. He was a devoted member of the Coshocton County Miracle on Wheels, where he passionately served his community. Outside of work, James was an avid hunter and a devout reader of his Bible, but what mattered most to James were his children, family, and friends. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." There is no doubt that James succeeded in this aspect, as countless lives were touched by his love and kindness.

James was a loving father to Kyra, Kodi, Jennie, and Amber, a cherished brother to Luann, Misty, Butch, Ossie, Buck, and Theresa, and a devoted son to Melissa. He also held deep love for his ex-wife, Amanda Bender, and his numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom were special to him.

James was preceded in death by his father, Raymond McWhorter, his mother, Ethel Shreckengoss, his brothers Scott Davis, his ex-parents in law Henry and Norma Mayle, and his ex-wife, Joy Drummond. His memories with them were filled with love and laughter, creating a bond that death could not sever.

We invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of James on his memorial page. As we remember him, let us celebrate the life he lived and the love he shared. He was a beacon of loyalty, love, laughter, and thoughtfulness, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His light may have gone out in this world, but his memory will forever burn bright in our hearts.
