Tyler Randall Batey, 50, passed away at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio on Friday September 12, 2025. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on September 9, 1975. Tyler was the son of Ralph and Cathy Batey.
He graduated from Milton High School and Marshall University. He was employed at Capital Resin Corp. and worked as a Chemical Operator in Columbus, Ohio. Tyler loved golfing, his cat Penny, and spending time with family and friends. Tyler will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, generosity, and love of life.
He is survived by his brothers, Casey Batey of Milton, WV and Kevin Batey of New Haven, WV. He was also survived by aunts and uncles, Connie and Curtis Roush of West Columbia, WV, Curry and Brooke Haggerty of Ona, WV, Phyllis and Cliff Yost of Charleston, WV, and many close cousins. He was preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Cathy Batey, grandparents, James and Phyllis Haggerty, and Phil and Marian Batey. Also, aunts, Cindy Ray and Carla Leadman, and uncle Gary Batey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Haven, WV. There will be a visitation 10:00-11:00am, with a service beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Patrice Weirick officiating. There will be a lunch to follow.
