Gordon L. Hook, 90, of Coventry, beloved husband of 50 years to the late Mary J. (Stephens) Hook, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. He was born on May 12, 1935, in Glen White, WV, one of two children to Albert T. and Lillie (Jones) Hook.

Gordon was raised and spent his younger years in West Virginia. Following high school, he proudly enrolled in Marshall University, earning his bachelor's degree four years later. Gordon held a lengthy career with Aetna Insurance before his retirement in 1995. He was a longtime member of the Coventry Lions Club and was very active with the Boy Scouts of America. In his spare time, he enjoyed antiquing as well as playing golf at Skungamaug River Golf Club with his friends.

Gordon is survived by his son, Gordon L. Hook, II, of Vernon; his three grandchildren, Geoff Hook and his wife Madeline of San Diego, CA, Kimberley Hook of Cambridge, MA, and Travis Hook of Vernon; as well as his two nephews and his niece, Kevin, Larry and Sandra. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Rebecca J. Hook; and his brother, Albert Hook.
