James Patrick Meddaugh was born June 22, 1960 from Janice (Piekarski) and Edward Meddaugh. He passed away January 16, 2025, unexpectedly. Jim married Diana Marie on June 5, 1993 at Lake Wazeecha in Kellner. Jim loved and was passionate about many people and things in his life, first and foremost to his devoted wife Diana and their families. His family included his Grandma – Catherine Piekarski "Grams", his parents Jan and Ed (both deceased) and also step-father Don Ryman (also deceased) of Wisconsin Rapids. He had five brothers, Ron (Kelly) Nekoosa, Dan (Bonnie) Kellner, Tim Oshkosh, Mike (partner Gwen) Hancock, and Billy Meddaugh (deceased). Jim's wife, Diana's family includes his mother-in-law Betty Langefeld, Lyndon Station; six brothers-in-law Dan(Cheryl) Reedsburg, Steve (Denise) Richland Center, Gary (deceased), Johnny (Tammy, deceased) Lyndon Station, Tommy (Jennifer) Markesan and Jimmy of Wonewoc. He had four sisters-in-law Linda (Kim) Kriemen, Reedsburg, Patty (T.J.) Teasely, Lake Geneva, Michelle (Bob) Jones, Baldwin, Cindy (Al, deceased) Henke, Lyndon Station. Jim raised two boys as his own (Diana's sons) Heath (Alison) Ruetter, Green Bay, and Jeremiah, Green Bay. He loved his granddaughter Kyla, his other grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and was passionate about being a Grandpa and Uncle. Jim was passionate about his many close friends and loved six of them like brothers, Scott, Tiny, Derek, Tonto, Steve, Charlie and Pat – among others. Jim had no blood-sisters, but his friend Karmen, was the little sister he never had. Jim was most passionate about coyote hunting and loved the many friends who hunted and shared countless adventures with him. He loved the outdoors and was an avid all-around hunter and fisherman. He was an expert marksman and a dead-eye with any weapon. He was passionate about the preservation of wildlife and their habitat. Jim was passionate about his many creative and artistic talents to include drawing, painting, tanning hides of the game he hunted and expertise in woodworking (both designing and building). Jim loved and was extremely passionate about his dogs (hunting, house, and hounds) throughout his life. Jim loved to drive the backroads to go wild asparagus hunting, enjoyed and appreciated the wildlife he saw along the way, as well as the beauty of the countryside. Jim was an avid gardener, who loved and was passionate about the vegetables, herbs and flowers he grew, and also a variety of different species of plants and trees. He also enjoyed landscaping and with all his creative talents, did so with precision and perfection. He was adamant about "living off the land" and hunted most of the meat eaten by his family and many others. He also used much of what he hunted (venison, coon, rabbit, etc ) to include hides, antlers, horns, tails and feathers in many of his creative/artistic talents. Jim had an excellent work ethic before retiring. He loved supervising/managing cranberry marshes, was a professional painter, and also worked at Preway Fireplaces for many years. He loved working outdoors most of all. He connected well with the people he worked with, gave so many people the opportunity of a good job and treated subordinates as equals. He was patient, fair and went out of his way to help those he worked with and for. Jim was a man of heightened integrity and owned many unique qualities that spoke highly of his strong character, upbeat personality. He was kind, compassionate, went out of his way to help others, whether it be someone he knew or a total stranger. He loved a good laugh and loved a good time. He and his wife Diana often had barbeques for friends and other loved ones. Around a campfire, people would enjoy plenty of home-cooked food and barbeque; with great conversation and lots of laughs. No one went home hungry but instead left with more food and anything else they wanted or needed. A heart-warmed thank you to Dr. Rose and staff, Aspirus – Wausau, and also to Flight for Life, for their expertise in caring for Jim. Also, thank you to Family for their help and concern through this extremely trying and devastating time. On starlit nights, around many a campfire, people who know and love you will share their most cherished memories of you, Jim; through laughter and tears, they will go home remembering the true and great man that you were. And your legacy will continue to live and thrive through others. Jim, may you forever soar with eagles through the Heavens, and run with the wolves with stamina and fierceness, so deserving of you! There will be a Celebration of Life this summer when it is warmer. We love you so much Pops!
