Born on February 27, 1973, in Davenport to Richard and Jacqueline Meixner, Jim spent his early years in Oquawka, Illinois, until he and his dad relocated to the Fairfield area. A 1991 graduate of Fairfield High School, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Upon returning to civilian life, Jim married Amber Scearcy on July 24, 2004, and together they built a life filled with love and dedication to family and their animals.
Jim's career was as diverse as his interests. After serving in the Navy, he worked at various establishments in and around Fairfield, including Orchlens, Hy-Vee, Econo Foods, Coca-Cola, Fairfield Precast Concrete, Jet Gas, and Agri Industrial Plastics. In 2016, Jim and Amber took a significant step in their professional lives by purchasing Fairfield Precast Concrete, where Jim's leadership and work ethic shone brightly.
Service to the community was another cornerstone of Jim's life. He was an active member of the Birmingham Fire Department before joining the Packwood Fire Department, where he served with distinction. As a member of the Iowa Onsite Waste Water Association, Jim contributed to the betterment of his community through his expertise and dedication.
Jim's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing. He was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packers fan and loved all animals with the same zeal he brought to all aspects of his life. Above all, Jim cherished the time spent with his family. He was deeply involved in helping his children with their show sheep, goats, and cattle and was a constant presence at their livestock shows, offering support and sharing in their accomplishments.
His memory will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Amber, and his children: daughter Madison Meixner (Clayton Smith) of Libertyville and son Bryan Meixner of Packwood. The family joyfully anticipates the arrival of his granddaughter, Kinsley Smith, who will no doubt hear many cherished stories of her grandfather's legacy. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and a half-brother, Richard Meixner Jr.
