James Lee Mingus Age 60 of Mountain Home, Idaho passed away of natural causes Sept. 7th, 2025. James was born May 23rd, 1965, in Denver, Colo. He was the son of Roger L and Phyllis J Mingus of Mills, Wy. James resided in Mills, Wy before joining the Army in January of 1988. He served in Desert Storm during the Golf War. He joined the Signal Brigade, which is part of the Signal Corps which was a major part in communications during the operation. He proudly served 8 years he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Tx as a PFC 4. He met his current wife Susan E Mingus in 2001 they married on Feb 12, 2011. They settled in Mountain Home, Idaho where James was a member of the American Legion Post 19 and 101 he served as Sargent of Arms, Vice 2, Vice 1, and Commander. James was a very sociable person, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved to go hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents Roger L and Phyllis J Mingus, his niece Bobbie Joann Townsend and his great niece Kaylie Rose Canaday. He is survived by his wife Susan E Mingus, his two sisters Pamela Marquez her husband Efrain, Wanda Canaday her husband Charles. His 3 nephews James R Jones, Charles A Canaday, and Justin L Canaday. Three nieces Alicia Marquez, Andrea Marquez, and Sharise L Canaday.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Mon. Sept. 22, 2025 in Wyoming Memorial Gardens. Tim Adams will officiate.
