James “Jimmy” Mize, age 72 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Jimmy was born on August 13, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana and was a lifetime resident of Alvin. He worked for many years as a measurement technician for Houston Pipeline and was Christian by faith. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Christene “Tena” and C.J. Mize, grandparents, P.T. and Carrie Mize, Jeter and Annie Tarver, brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Mize.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Ashlie Davenport, sister, Shirley Kay and husband Billy, niece, Nicole Wallace and husband Chris, great-niece, Hope Wallace, Uncles, Ray Tarver, Bootsie Tarver, Aunt, Marion Millet, many cousins, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on December 15, 2024 at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home,  705 S. Spruce Street in Vivian, Louisiana and he will be laid to rest surrounded by family in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Vivian, Louisiana. There will be a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

 Pallbearers for the service will be Chris Wallace, Thomas Jackson, Marvin “Bootsie” Tarver, David “Davo” Loftin Sr., Ray Tarver, and Brian Tarver.
