It is with sadness that the family of James K. Moon announces his passing on September 13, 2022.
Known as Ken by his friends, he was born in Piedmont, Alabama on July 6, 1938. He graduated from East High School in Knoxville, Tn. and attended University of Tennessee. He served eight years in the U.S. National guard. He retired from Pet, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri as Regional Sales Manager.
A diehard Tennessee Volunteer, Ken traveled the country with his work, ultimately adopting Louisville as his hometown, and the Louisville Cardinals, as well. Ken enjoyed golf, his beloved dogs, Nixie and Dottie, and spending time at the beach. Most of all, he was a doting grandfather, loving and patient father, and devoted husband.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Mildred A. Moon; father, Paul E. Moon of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and sister, Peggie Pickett of Red Bank, Tennessee. Surviving Ken are his wife, Justine Laramore Moon (nee Haywood); daughter, Kimberly Laramore-Stephens (Chas) of Louisville; son, James R. Laramore (Florence) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and his beloved grandchildren, Christy O'Daniel of Beaufort, SC, Robert O'Daniel of Louisville, Connor Laramore of DC, and Bryce Laramore of Nashville, TN. Also surviving Ken are his siblings, Donald Moon of Signal Mountain, TN, Paulette Amsler of Chattanooga, TN and Rick Moon (Cindy) of Greer, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
Rest in peace, Ken. We will always love you and remember you with a smile.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 17 from 2 to 4 pm with services following at 4 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.
