James (Jim) Samuel Moore, Jr., passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, after battling Alzheimer’s Disease.
Prior to the onset of his illness, Jim worked as a Professional Engineer for many years, eventually co-owning a local engineering consulting firm. Balancing a family with his professional life, he dedicated countless hours to supporting parish and school activities while raising his two children. Before that, he graduated Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1969 and pursued degrees in Engineering and Business from Johns Hopkins University and Loyola University, respectively.
Known for his ingenuity and dedication to seeing big ideas through to completion, Jim will be remembered for tackling projects large and slightly smaller from renovating an old Baltimore townhouse from the ground up, to building an intricately designed Christmas train garden every year for the holidays.
Friends and family will fondly recall Jim’s devotion to loved ones, hockey, and the Baltimore Colts (later the Ravens).
The beloved 72-year-old father is survived by his children, Diana Colleen Harriman (nee Moore) and James Samuel Moore III, his grandchildren Gavin and Abigail, his son-in-law Scott, and his brother-in-law Jim. He was predeceased by his wife Kathy, his sister Rosemarie, and parents James and Rosemarie.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, January 20 at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 from 1-3pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 3pm.
