James Francis Moore, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Patricia Moore; cherished son of the late James P. and Mary Moore; devoted father of Katherine Deatherage and Debra (Kenneth) Moore Johnston; loving grandfather of Jim Deatherage, and Angel (Justin) Hlinak; great-grandfather of Ashton Hlinak, Margot Hlinak, Hazel Hlinak, and Scarlet Hlinak; dear brother of William (the late Patsy) Moore. James is preceded in death by his son, James F. Moore, and his first wife, Joanne Moore.
James was a devoted carpenter with Local 97, a craftsman who took great pride in working with his hands and building not only structures, but a life rooted in faith, family, and integrity. A faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church, James was a true man of God who found strength and joy in attending Mass and living out his beliefs each day. Beyond his work and devotion to his church, he was an avid speed skater whose remarkable talent nearly carried him to the 1960 Winter Olympics. Above all else, James cherished his family, treasuring every gathering, conversation, and quiet moment spent together. James was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in James's name to Alzheimer's Association or St. Paul Catholic Church.
