James Moore Obituary

James David Moore, born on May 7, 1954, passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 71. Known for his love of life and generosity, he was a man who embraced every moment and shared his passions with those around him.

A devoted family man, James is survived by his loving wife, three cherished children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He treasured his family deeply and always put them at the center of his world.

James served honorably as a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and dedication to his country. He was proud of his service and carried those experiences throughout his life.

Professionally, James was a certified pest control technician, a role he took great pride in. He was a hard-working individual who always strived to do his best.

Though humble, James's love for music was well-known among friends and family. Country and oldies held a special place in his heart, and he had a particular fondness for Elvis Presley.

Fishing was one of James's greatest joys, and he loved sharing tales of his adventures by the water. His skill was evident, as he often caught the first fish when out on his excursions.

James had a deep passion for history and delighted in sharing stories of historical significance, being an ever-curious learner who appreciated the narratives of the past.

He was the beloved son of Lucy Nelly Pettis and Joel Buford Moore. As a survivor of both parents and siblings, James valued the family he had created and the legacy he would leave behind.

Always ready to lend a helping hand, James was a friend to many and a lover of life. His five dogs were his constant companions, and he cared for them with the same devotion he showed to his family and friends.

James David Moore will be remembered for his warmth, his storytelling, and his unwavering spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
