Millbury: James R. Morgan, Sr., 87, died Saturday, September 23 in UMass Memorial Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his daughter Maureen L. Smith and her husband Brian of Millbury, a brother Frank Morgan of Worcester, a sister Mary Weir of Northborough, his beloved grandchildren: Patrick J. Morgan and Statia E. Morgan-Kamyck and her fiancé Daniel Cunningham. His step grandchildren Tyler Smith and his fiancé Jasmine Rodriguez and Sydney Smith. Two step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son James R. Morgan, Jr. and the mother of his children, Irene V. (Dupuis) Morgan.
James was born in Worcester, son of Roderick and Margaret (Bagin) Morgan. He was a bartender for many years at several local pubs and at one time was the owner of JP’s Place on Millbury Street. He was an avid Boston Bruins, Detroit Tigers & New York Giants fan. He enjoyed walking around town visiting with all his neighbors.
Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private at the convenience of the family.
