James Tyler Morton, 32, of Thorndale, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at his home in Thorndale. A memorial visitation will be held 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Tyler was born on October 11, 1991 to Misty Morton in Temple. He graduated from Thorndale High School before going on to TSTC for welding. He was working as a welding supervisor at Samsung and was a member of the union. He enjoyed all things outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a hard worker and always loved going to the gym. To know him was to love him and his prankster ways. He was also never afraid to speak his mind. He never had any children of his own, so his nieces and nephews were his pride and joy.
He is preceded in death by his cousin, Maggie Schneider.
Tyler is survived by his fur babies, Scrappy and Rocco; mom, Misty Morton of Thorndale; dad, Shane Hansen of Hutto; brothers, Marcus Gest and wife Chelsea of Rockdale, and Trey Fuller of Jarrell; half-sisters, Larissa Hansen of Jerrell, and Avery Hansen of Hutto; grandparents, Mary and Luke Gest of Caldwell, and Buddy and Barbara Morton of Caldwell; nieces, Jaelynn Gest and Kenzie Gest; nephew, Kamdyn Gest; uncle, Eric and wife Leslee; aunts, Cheryl and Sissy; best friend since kindergarten, Herman Reyes of Thorndale; Mason Krueger of Thorndale, a lifelong friend and was always there for Tyler; as well as many more beloved family and friends.
To know Tyler was to love him. He will be deeply missed by all.
