James Moses Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Mill Street on Sep. 10, 2024.
James "Jimi" David Moses, of New Castle, PA, and Jacksonville, FL, passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born in New Castle, PA on August 29, 1949. He was a man of deep faith, boundless love for his family and friends, and had an undeniable zest for life. His loyalty and charisma left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Jimi's presence was cherished by all, and there wasn't a person who crossed his path who didn't adore him.
Jimi lived his life with passion and appreciation for every good time, often reminding those around him to live life to the fullest. He had a unique gift for bringing people together, and his warmth and quick wit were a source of comfort to all who knew him.
Jimi's life was marked by many significant accomplishments. He graduated from high school in 1967 and went on to serve in the military. Following his service, he pursued his passion for beauty, becoming a celebrated hair stylist. His talent led him to work in numerous prestigious salons across the country. Jimi's dedication and vision was fully realized when he opened his own salon, Ciao Bella, in Jacksonville, Florida. He ran the salon with pride and excellence until his health challenges, specifically COPD, required him to step away.
Jimi was preceded by his adored mother, Della Moses, who instilled in him the values of kindness and faith that shaped his life. He was also preceded in death by his father, David Moses.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Cynthia Dominick, and brother-in-law, Gary Dominick, both of New Castle. Jimi was a proud father to his children: David Moses of Jacksonville, Florida; Aimee Lynn Moses of Jacksonville, Florida; Haley Stutz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Marlee Kent (husband, Andrew Kent) of Vancouver, Washington. His children were his pride and joy.
Jimi's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Madison Jones, Gabriella Conway (husband, Clive Conway), David Anthony Moses, Isabella Moses, Ezra Moses, McKensie Kent, and Andie Kent. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Adelaide Conway and a loving uncle to his nephew Joshua Ringer of New Castle. His family was his heart, and he loved them unconditionally, celebrating every milestone and moment they shared.
His friends were equally important to him, and Jimi loved nothing more than spending time with them, sharing stories, laughs, and making unforgettable memories. Jimi's presence made every gathering special. His generosity, laughter, and vibrant spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the honor of calling him a friend.
James "Jimi" Moses lived his life with purpose, faith, and a love that knew no bounds. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.
A visitation to celebrate Jimi's life will be held on Friday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 6:30 p.m. at St. Elias Orthodox Church, 915 Lynn St., New Castle, PA 16101.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at the church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Father Kevin Long officiating.
