James L. Muller, 89, of Indiana, died Tuesday, September 16, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on March 26, 1936 in Indiana, he was the son of the late Lawrence C. Muller and Margaret I. (Crilley) Muller. He was the husband of Joanne (Morganti) Muller, whom he married on June 4, 1960.

He attended Indiana Area High School and attended Barber School. James was an owner/butcher for the former Graff's Market, in Indiana that he operated alongside his father and family. He later worked for R&P Coal Company in maintenance and security. In the late 1970s James was a Little League Coach at Herman Harris Field. James enjoyed watching and listening to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He loved going on vacations to Florida and Myrtle Beach, SC with his wife and family. One of his favorite past times was having coffee on the porch with his loving wife, Joanne.

James was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church and was member of Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, of 65 years Joanne Muller; his children: Lori Ann Singel (Michael), of Indiana, PA; James L. Muller II (Danielle), of Forest, VA; and Timothy A. Muller (Linda), of McDonald, PA. James will be missed by his grandchildren: Powers Muller and Steven Girouard (Muller); and brother-in-law: James Buckshaw; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Barbara McKee, Margaret Spence, Rose Mary Buckshaw, Joe Muller, Regina Dietrick; and brother in laws: Robert Dietrick, Paul McKee, and Stanley Spence; and sister-in-law: Dory Kunkle Muller.

Friends will be received on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory (965 Philadelphia St.). A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 on Saturday, September 20 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana.
