James Lee Murray, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Wilmer, Texas. Born on October 19, 1943, in Benot, Mississippi, James's journey through life was marked by his unwavering spirit and a personality that warmed the hearts of everyone he encountered.
For over 40 years, James demonstrated his exceptional skills as a licensed plumber, dedicated to serving the community with pride and commitment. He was known for his laid-back demeanor and his innate ability to connect with people. Friends often remarked that he never met a stranger; everyone who crossed his path fell under his charm. His fun-loving, outgoing nature made gatherings lively and filled with laughter, while his optimistic outlook on life inspired all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Nugent Center High School, class of 1963, James carried with him a spirit of determination and resilience that touched many lives. He had a passion for various hobbies including fishing, yard work, landscaping, horseback riding, and building projects—activities that brought him joy and fulfillment.
James's legacy lives on through his loving spouse, Dorothy Murray, and his cherished children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. His family will forever remember his kind spirit and the warmth he brought into their lives. He will be deeply missed, not only for the impact he had on those closest to him but also for the positivity he shared with the wider community.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Murray Ingram, and father, Robert Ingram, who welcomed him with open arms in the depths of eternity. Their love undoubtedly influenced the man he became, and they hold a special place in the hearts of those who remember him.
As we gather to celebrate the vibrant life of James Lee Murray, let us honor his memory with the love and positivity he imparted to everyone. A prayer service will be held on December 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM, followed by the funeral service on December 20, 2025, at 9:00 AM, both taking place at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
May his joyful spirit shine brightly in our memories as we carry forward the lessons of kindness and love he taught us all.
