James R. Muthig, age 75, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at his residence. He was born on March 19, 1949, in Fond du Lac, the son of Raymond and Jessica Muthig. Jim graduated from Goodrich High School in 1968. He was drafted into the United States Army to serve in Vietnam. Jim then reenlisted in the Army and served another tour in Vietnam, all between 1968-75.
Jim spent his life as a machinist. Most recently working at Mid-States Aluminum for 15 years, retiring in 2017. Jim was a handyman and loved helping people, he would help anyone that needed help on a project. Jim enjoyed woodworking and doing paint by number pictures.
Survivors include two children, James (Denise) Muthig, and John (Kim Reible) Muthig; his significant other, Barbara de Leon; his mother, Jessica “Judy” Muthig; one grandson, Taylor James Muthig; sister, Ann (Mo) Murray; two other siblings; special granddog, “Annie”; and his kitties, Mister and Missy; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Military graveside honors will be held at 1:30 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation will follow the visitation.
