James Henry Nelson, 45, of Weatherford, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020. He was born October 8, 1975, in Big Spring, Texas, to Coy and Wanda Gillette Nelson. 

James was a kind, compassionate man that was always willing to help anyone in need no matter the situation. He will be remembered for the unconditional love and support he provided his family, especially his wife and children; being an amazing cook and having the ability to build anything imaginable. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Coy Nelson; grandfather, C.A. Nelson; grandfather, H.D. Gillette; father-in-law, Bruce Barksdale; and special dad, Louis Fontenot.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 8 years, Weida Nelson; children, Destany Nelson, Hagen Nelson, and Koda Nelson; mother, Wanda Nelson; grandson, Bexton Nelson; brothers, Jason Nelson and wife, Monicca, Jody Nelson and wife, Donna; mother-in-law, Shelia Barksdale; brothers-in-law, Douglas Barksdale, and Michael Lucas and wife, Kristan; sister-in-law, Courtney Whitman and husband, Rodie; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends and loyal customers.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel 4941 I-20 Frontage Road, in Willow Park. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2020, also at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, with a private committal service to follow.
