James Nicholas Obituary
He was a sawfiler at Tunica Sawmill for more than 18 years.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Tunica United Methodist Church from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 noon conducted by Rev. Brandon Sikes. Burial will follow in Rogillio Cemetery.
Survived by his daughter, Cynthia Nicholas and son, John Nicholas Jr. and wife, Nickey, 9 grandchildren, including John and Jacob Harrigill and Kenneth Wright, special great niece, Emily Nicholas, great great nephew, Jaxson and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of more than 70 years, Eva Theresa Solar Nicholas, daughter, Shirley Nicholas, grandson, Jeremiah Harrigill, parents, Martin and Dora Nicholas and siblings.
James served in the US Navy during WWII earning the American Theater Ribbon and Victory Ribbon.
He spent his life on the Mississippi River fishing, hunting and living off the land.
