James Alvin Nickum

Sioux City

James Alvin Nickum of Sioux City passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024 after living with the after effects of Spinal Meningitis at age 12 months.

Jimmy was born April 17, 1938 in Sioux City, to Thomas and Maria Chartier Nickum.

There will be no formal Services. Arrangements have been done by Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery next to his beloved Mom and Dad.

Highlights for Jimmy was being taken to Dairy Queen for "Blizzards", going shopping at Walmart, watching for Dads car to go for rides, and Cousin Barbs almost daily visits to go for Coffee.

He called ALL he came across his "friend".

Jimmy is survived by two sisters, Sharon Nickum Armstrong and Connie Nickum Winning; brother-in-law Fred Winning, two nephews, Auric Armstrong and Ryan Winning, one niece, Rene Winning Link; four great nieces, Claire and Ava Winning and Taylor and Callie Link.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

A special Thank You to his "Angel" Barbara, George, Harriet, and all the Bradleys, Nickums, and Chartiers, along with many care givers who cared and prayed for him for so many years.
