James Robert Nix

James Robert "Bobby" Nix, 78, of Jacksonville, Florida, born August 31, 1944, passed away on March 31, 2023, at his home.
Visitation and services will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32205. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. and the service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow.
Bobby was born in Nashville, Georgia, on August 31, 1944, to the late James Earnest Nix and Gladys Hendley Nix. He married his childhood sweetheart, Linda, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary February 1st of this year. They were blessed with two children, Lang (Jacksonville, FL.) and Belinda (Quitman, GA.); and three beautiful grandchildren Bryan (who passed February 16th 2023), David, and Courtney, all of Jacksonville, FL.
He started his career in high school at Winn-Dixie Stores working his way up through the company holding many positions and retiring after 35 years. After retirement, he focused on spending time with family and working on hobbies. His favorite hobby was spent rebuilding, riding, and enjoying Cushman scooters. He loved sharing his mechanical abilities with friends as they worked together on cars and motorcycles. Bobby never met a stranger and was a friend to many.
He was a member of First Coast Baptist Church and dearly loved the members of the Victory class Sunday school and his teacher, Brother Morgan.
Bobby will be greatly missed by family and friends..
