Edward Henry Nix

EDWARD HENRY NIX, 87, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Baptist Health.
Born in Louisville, Eddie retired after over 50 years from Marine Electric, where he worked as a Master Electrician. He was a founding member of the St. Edward Knights of Columbus, a member of the 4th Degree Knights Assembly Monsignor Bouchet, Treasurer for an IBEW Retirees club, a member of St Edward Catholic Church, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Electronic Technician ETN3.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lucille Nix, an infant daughter, Kathleen and sister, Darlene Barrentine.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Peggy Nix; children, Christopher Edward Nix (Mary), Scott Michael Nix, James Kenneth Nix (Heather), Jennifer Wallace, Jeff Long (Christina) and Jason Long; sisters, Charlotte Smith (Jim) and Sharon Hatfield; grandchildren Eric Nix, William Grayson (Haley), Cole Nix, Gabriel Nix (Grace), Ashton Nix, Justin Wallace, Cassie Utterback (Ben), Jeffrey Long; Justice Smith, and great grandchildren: Laura Leigh Nix, Haven Grayson, Tobias Nix, Atlas Nix, Jackson Henning, and Lincoln Long.
Visitation will be from 2–8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersontown, 10600 Taylorsville Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
