James F. O'Donnell, 80, of Tavares, FL, passed away on April 28, 2025. He was born on July 15, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, to his parents: John and Kathleen (Hannon) O'Donnell. Jim was a Detective for the Philadelphia Police Department. After high school Jim spent 4 years in the United States Navy, then joined the Philadelphia Police Dept. He served 35 years before retiring as a detective. Karen and Jim married on April 25, 1986, and spent many winter vacations skiing. They also spent many happy summers on Long Beach Island in New Jersey where Jim and Karen would go deep sea Scuba Diving and afterwards enjoyed many delicious lobster dinners with family and friends. Jim also enjoyed cycling and swimming.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 39 years: Karen O'Donnell; sons: Matthew (Tara) O'Donnell and James O'Donnell. Grandchildren: James, Juliana and Jessica; great grandchildren: Jake and Joey. Brother' Michael O'Donnell. He was preceded in death by his parents: Kathleen and John O'Donnell and brother Jack O'Donnell.
