James Oh, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on November 13, 1979, in Southfield, Michigan, James was the cherished son of In Gul Oh and Hae Ok Oh, and the devoted older brother of Thomas Oh and Jennifer Oh.
A proud graduate of Andover High School, James went on to pursue higher education at both Wayne State University and Davenport University. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Southfield, where he served his community with dedication and care.
James had a deep passion for life and the simple joys it offered. He found happiness in BBQing for loved ones, spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, and collecting firearms - often visiting the gun range with enthusiasm. He also had an immense love for his dogs, whom he treated as family.
Those who knew James will remember him for his kindness, generosity, and the incredible heart he shared with everyone he met. He was the type of person who would do anything for the people he loved. Family gatherings, time with friends, and moments of connection were what he valued most.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, followed by a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
James will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave so freely and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
