James W. Osborne, age 71, of Abington, formerly of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was the beloved son of the late George W. and Mildred (Smith) Osborne.

Born in Brockton on January 11, 1954, Jim-fondly known as "Jimmy"-worked as a line worker in manufacturing. He was known as a "gentle giant," a kind and positive soul. In his later years, he enjoyed arts and crafts and playing bingo at the Colony Center in Abington.

Jim had a deep love for animals, especially his cats, and a fascination with tigers. He enjoyed traveling, reading, history, and watching Westerns. He also had a lifelong admiration for Marilyn Monroe.

He is survived by his sister, Ruth Benvie, and her husband Keith of Plymouth; his nieces and nephew, Jocelyn Benvie of Plymouth, Keith Benvie Jr. of Rockland, and Jesse Osborne of Wyoming; and his great-nieces, Charlotte, Emmie and Christina.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). Visitation with the Osborne family will take place prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton, MA.
