James Larry "Poly" Oswalt age 79, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025, at his residence in Maben, MS. Poly was born on June 15, 1945, in Oktibbeha County, MS to William Harford Oswalt and Helen Louzell Bell Oswalt. Mr. Oswalt was a retired Shipping Coordinator with Howard Furniture, enjoyed coon hunting and was an avid Ole Miss fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS. Poly is survived by one daughter, Shelly (Scotty) Reed, Maben, MS; two sons, Jim Oswalt, Maben, MS and Luke (Ashley) Oswalt, Thaxton, MS; one sister, Diane Boon; one brother, Doug Oswalt and four grandchildren, Jessi Reed, Josie Reed, Lilly Oswalt and Henry Cash Oswalt. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cathy Oswalt; both parents, William Harford and Helen Louzell Bell Oswalt and one sister, Dot Holland. Graveside Services were held for Mr. Poly at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Oktibbeha County, MS. Bro. Vic Nickels officiated the services. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was entrusted with all arrangements.
