James Robert Oyler

Age 79, on Sunday, September 28th, 2025 of Pittsburgh. Survived by his loving wife Joan, of 50 years, son Jimmy (Amy), grand daughters Kennedy and Libby, brother Bub (Toots), sister in law- Donna, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, the late Earl and the late Anna, and brothers the late Jack (the late Romaline), and the late Chuck (Donna).

Known for his hard work ethic and quick wit, Jim was a family man first and foremost, dedicating his life to his wife, raising his son, taking care of his mother and mother-in-law (the late Josephine), and later in life, Joan. He loved attending Kennedy& Libby's sporting events until his body couldn't support it any longer. And he looked forward to the 4th of July, where he attended every Brentwood parade since 1979, and would often throw great parties for family & friends.

Married in 1975, Jim and Joan settled in Baldwin, and practiced their strong Roman Catholic faith at St Albert the Great and Holy Angels (Blessed Trinity) Parish. Jim lived his faith by setting a strong example.

Jim, a Verteran of the US Army, graduated from West Mifflin High school in 1963, and Robert Morris College. He was known for his work ethic, starting with his first job at Isaly's, until the day he retired from driving the nurses' shuttle at Jefferson Hospital. His professional heart resided at 1000 McKee Road in Oakdale, where he managed the building for 25+ years, working for five separate companies during that span. Perhaps his favorite was Westinghouse Electric Co., where he reported to the Sr. vp of Productivity and Quality. He had great pride when Jimmy took a job at Westinghouse.

Jim loved his many dogs. He was an avid model train collector, a gifted gardener, a die-hard Steeler fan, and loved traveling with Joan, Chuck and Donna, long drives, and Sunday brunch with friends.

Jim also loved flowers. However, if you chose to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please donate to Mount Assisi Place, where Joan is still a resident.

Visitations Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Boron Funeral Home Inc. 1719 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh 15210. Funeral Prayers Thursday at 9:45 am, Mass of Christain Burial in Holy Angels Church of Blessed Trinity Parish at 10:30 am. Emtombment in All Saints Cemetery, Braddock PA.
