James John Morandi, 65, of North Adams, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at BMC-North.
Born on October 14, 1958, in North Adams to the late James Paul and Angelina Edith (Girardi) Morandi, James was a lifelong resident deeply rooted in his community. He attended local schools, including St. Joseph's, and graduated from the electricity program at McCann Technical High School. James dedicated over 40 years of his life as a master electrician for IBEW Local-7, where he was known not only for his expertise and diligence but also for his generosity in mentoring others.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie (Nicholson) Perry-Morandi. He leaves behind his cherished children, Nichole Morandi and her partner Jared Brown, and James Morandi and his partner Kaitlyn Anderson, who will forever remember his wisdom, strength, and loving guidance. James's legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Tony Mejias Jr., Jared Brown, and Liam Brown, who brought immense joy to his life.
He is also survived by his loving sisters, Lois Bona of Stamford, VT, and Lynn Morandi-Goruk of Hamilton, Canada, who shared countless cherished memories with him throughout the years. James was predeceased by his first wife, Lisa (Therrien) Morandi, whose unwavering support and companionship were the cornerstones of his life and whose memory he held dear.
James's life was marked by his commitment to his family, his work, and his community. His kindness, integrity, and the warmth he extended to all who knew him will be remembered and missed by many.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for James Morandi will be on Thursday August 8, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes –74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247. Calling hours will be from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Donations may be made in his memory to the funeral home. To add to the book of memories please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com
