James Paul Payette

James "Jaime" Paul Payette, age 40, of Minneapolis passed away unexpectedly at home on December 29th, 2024.
He was born July 22, 1984, in Minneapolis, MN, to Gerard and Christine (Fritze) Payette. An avid athlete, he played multiple sports for Minneapolis Southwest High School, graduating in 2002. He attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (B.A., summa cum laude, 2005; J.D., 2009). He served as a Legal Intern at the Juneau, Alaska, City Attorney's office, and clerked for the Honorable Loren Tucker in Dillon, Montana. Subsequently he left the legal sector to pursue other interests, including fishing at his cabin in northern Minnesota. He was most recently employed at FedEx Express.
He is survived by mother, Christine; sister, Jessica (Michael Gurevich); niece, Raphie; and many other family and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 6th at 10 AM at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis. Visitation half an hour prior. Interment to follow at Lakewood Cemetery. Reception at Lakewood Garden Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
