J.R. Perdue age 43 of Wirtz passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 after a brief illness that left him with a weakened heart. He put up a good fight, but in the end, the good Lord called him home.

J.R. was full of life and he lived that life doing things his own way. He loved his family and friends with all of his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Guzman and his stepmother, Juanita Perdue; grandparents, Barbara and Junior Mitchell and Oakey Perdue.

He is survived by his father, Roger Perdue; grandmother, Martha Perdue; sons, Steven Fisher, Hunter Torode, and Jamie Perdue; his daughter, Kayla Perdue; grandson, Dallas Torode; brothers, Roger Perdue (Kelly), Ronnie Perdue, Tommy Yerkey, and Terry Yerkey; sister, Charlotte Oliver (T). He also leaves behind his girlfriend Tara Himmel; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in the Perdue Family Cemetery at the home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.

"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die"

Though early days have reached their end, His spirit lingers, a loyal friend. In every sunset, every bloom, His love will be felt, dispelling the gloom. He's found his rest in fields of gold, a story of love, forever told.

Love, Sissy
