James Martin "Jimmy" Perrott went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 21, 2025. He was beloved by his family, friends and community as a humble and joyous man, always quick with a smile and a love of laughter. Jimmy was kind, hard-working and willing to lend a hand. He was called upon by many for his ability to solve problems with his intellect, wisdom and the right tool for the job.
Jimmy was a life-long resident of Wake County, NC. After graduating from Wake Forest High School, he spent 4 years serving overseas in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Returning home, he obtained a degree from King's College in Raleigh. Jimmy had a career in machinery maintenance at the US Postal Service and retired as Plant Operations Manager. In his retirement years, he spent his time enjoying going to football games, playing golf and watching his grandchildren perform. He could often be found tinkering and fixing things around the house, outside riding his tractor or sitting in the carpool line at school waiting on his grandkids.
Jimmy lived his life as both a servant and a leader. He served in many capacities at his home church of Stony Hill Baptist as Deacon, Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, President of the Board of Directors and numerous other roles whenever he was needed or called upon. He was a retired volunteer fireman of the Stony Hill VFD, serving a time as Chief at the same fire dept that his own father was a founding member. In his early adult years, Jimmy lead many young men of the community as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Martin R. "Shorty" Perrott. Mother, Mozelle Ray Perrott. Grandson Paxton Seneri and Grandson Braydon Seneri. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Harrison Perrott. Son, Craig Perrott and his wife Corey Perrott, grandson Jackson Perrott and granddaughter Miley Perrott.
