James Edwin Pirtle

James Edwin Pirtle of Dickson, TN, age 74, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. Edwin was born on September 1, 1949, to the late Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Cagle Pirtle and Jesse James “Dutch” Pirtle. Edwin was a member of the McEwen Church of Christ when he resided in Humphreys County. He was current member at Sylvia Church of Christ in Dickson, TN.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying farming and fishing. Edwin was also a Shriner. Edwin will be remembered by his family as a hardworking and devoted uncle and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is his nephew, Tommy Bradley (Jessica) of McEwen, TN; great nephews, Tommy Bradley of Dickson, TN and Josh Bradley of Clarksville, TN; great niece and Lily Bradley of McEwen, TN; special friend, Sissy Craig of McEwen, TN and his cat, Midnight.

Along with his parents, Edwin is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Sylvia Pirtle. 

A visitation for Mr. Pirtle will be held at Luff-Bowen McEwen Chapel on Sunday, January 28, 2024, beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Bro. Jim Suddeath will officiate the service.   Interment will be at Bethpage Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
