James W. "Jim" Pirtle was born on September 28, 1945 at Fredericktown the son of Thomas and Ethel Pirtle and passed away on June 20, 2025 at Fredericktown at the age of 79 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Linda Martin, and three brothers and their wives Noey and Irene Pirtle, Ralph and Virginia Pirtle, and Floyd and Freda Pirtle.
Jim is survived by his wife Donna K. Pirtle whom he was united in marriage to on June 24, 1972 at Twin Oaks Free Will Baptist Church in Fredericktown; one son Timothy Pirtle and wife Alisha; one daughter Christy Rayoum and husband Jason of Farmington; one brother Joe Pirtle of DeSoto; one sister Bessie Brooks of Farmington; grandchildren Lily Price and husband Joe, Levi Pirtle and wife Reagan, Katie Pirtle, Jacob Pirtle, Blayne Rayoum, and Ashlyn Rayoum.
He was a member of Twin Oaks Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed farming, fishing, spending time with grandkids, listening to gospel music. He loved to work, no matter what kind of work and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. One of his most difficult days was when he sold all of his cows. He worked 27 years at Fredericktown High School and retired in 2010. He loved all people, especially babies.
His favorite past times included playing ice hockey with the grandkids when Village Creek was frozen, playing kick the can or stick hockey with the kids.
