James Bernard Plotzke died April 1, 2023, at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. He was 84 years old. Born in Highland Park, Michigan on November 1, 1938, to John and Elenor (maiden name: Dombrowski).
Jim attended George Washington Trade School in Detroit, Michigan. He worked as a sample maker for J & J Spring Manufacturing in Shelby Township, Michigan for 40 + years until his retirement in 2008. Jim loved hunting, bowling, and vacationing in Houghton Lake, Michigan. Jim enjoyed watching Barrett-Jackson Auctions in his spare time.
Jim is survived by his sons; James Jr and Daniel (Pam) Plotzke. His granddaughters Taylor (Adam) Failer and Paige Plotzke and siblings; John "Jack" (Barbara) Plotzke and Virginia (the late Tom "Bud") Byrd. Jim is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Virginia who died October 21, 2015. And his sister Ann (Royce) Cleghorn.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday April 6, 2023, at Gramer Funeral Home, Diener Chapel 48271 Van Dyke Avenue (Van Dyke, between 21- and 22-Mile roads) Shelby Township, Michigan 48317.
Visitation Wednesday April 5, 2023, from 3 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Memorial donations to the The Parkinson's Foundation are appreciated.
