Cumberland, MD – James "Jim" Clyde Plummer, 75, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Born December 16, 1949 in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Plummer was the son of the late James Oliver Plummer and Eva Mae (Nixon) Plummer. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Roger Plummer, and Pappy Plummer; and a sister: Carol Drabish.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, a proud Marine, serving four years, and was a former employee of Laborers Local #616 and Orts, Inc. Jim and his wife, Sheila were married at Grace Baptist Church in 1968. He was a member of the Cumberland Moose Lodge #271, a Charter Member of the VVA Chapter #172, Life Member of the DAV, and also a charter member of the North End Crime Watch. He volunteered at the Western Maryland Food Bank for over 40 years. Jim played music with local bands for half of his life, enjoyed hunting and fishing, feeding and tending to his pet bunnies, but most of all, spending time with his family. He and Sheila loved camping.

Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years: Sheila Plummer; his daughters: Jamie Kelly and husband, William; and Krystal Mallery and husband, Scott; his grandchildren: Nicole Davies and husband, Nicolas; Addison Dayton and husband, Jonathan; Colbren Mallery and wife, Quinn; William John Kelly, IV, and significant other, Lacy; and Kayla Kelly; and his great-grandchildren who he adored: Judah, Mabel, Emmy, and Lucy. He is also survived by his sister: Lydia "Liz" George and husband, Ray; his brothers: Richard Plummer, Edward Plummer and wife, Patty; and a sister-in-law: Vicky Plummer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. Friends will be received one hour prior.

Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.

Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the VVA Chapter #172 Color Guard.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Zaman, the Schwab Family Cancer Center, and the Staff at the WVU Cancer Institute at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rosenbaum Family House, 30 Family House Drive, P.O. Box 8228 Morgantown, WV 26506.
