James Poch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Plymouth on Mar. 9, 2026.
James A Poch, age 79, of Johnsonville, WI, passed away peacefully in his home on March 7th, 2026.

He was born on July 15, 1946, in Plymouth WI. Jim graduated from New Holstein in 1965.

James served his county proudly during the Vietnam War returning Christmas of 1967.

On June 27, 1970, he married Barbara Agacki (Poch) the love of his life at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. He worked for much of his life in Corrections until retirement. When Jim decided to retire at the young age of 55, he helped with many things including helping with farming (Poch Farms) and helping to watch all his grandchildren, which he loved so much.

Jim found joy in the simple, genuine things he loved. His collection of tractors and his trips to farm shows were more than hobbies, they were reflections of who he was. He poured his heart into building his farm displays, earning first place honors time and time again, but always with a humble smile. His garden, often too big to tame, brought him peace and purpose, even when the weeds tried to win. Jim's hands were rarely still-whether shaping wood into something beautiful or reaching for his favorite "water/whiskey." He lived with a quiet passion, a gentle pride, and a love for the things that made his world feel full. He loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was nothing in this world that could make him smile more than his family and his cat Buddy. He loved to talk about each one of them.

Survivors include, Jim Cat (Buddy) three children, Keith (Nina) Poch of Sheboygan, Matthew Poch of Fond du Lac, and Rebecca (Jeffery) DenBoer of Elkhart Lake; five grandchildren, Jordan Poch of Port Washington (boyfriend Sam Selk), Sierra Poch of TN(Rob Gann), Amanda Valadez(Danny)of Sheboygan, Nichole DenBoer (boyfriend Jesse Schaller) of Sheboygan Falls, Jacob (Aarika) DenBoer of Sheboygan and Sam Willems (girlfriend Sam Beaudoin; Six great-grandchildren, Giovanny Arciniega, Elliot DenBoer, Gracelynn Schaller, Evalynn Schaller, Cooper DenBoer and Mariah Willems and lots of great-grand puppies; one brother, John (Mary Lou) Poch of New Holstein; four sisters, Donna (Tom) Valleskey of Florida, Diane Poch (Gary) of Sheboygan Falls, Debbie (Dick) Griem of St. Nazianz, and Denice (Ron) Hau of Iowa; and Two brothers-in-law, Andrew (Patricia) Agacki of Milwaukee and Daniel (Bonnie) Agacki of Plymouth.

James was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Poch, parents Ray and Rose Poch, father and mother-in-law, Edward and Annabelle Agacki and daughter-in-law Lisa Poch.

"Some people measure their lives in years, but you measured yours in love. Every sacrifice you made, every quiet act of giving, became the foundation our family stands on today. Your love didn't just guide us-it built us. And now, reunited with the love of your life, may you hold her close once more, at peace together again. Watch over us, guide us, and visit often-your presence will always be felt in the love you left behind."

Love forever and always Keith, Matt and Becky.
