I´m sorry to see this and my prayers to Jim´s family. I first met Jim when he was Jimmy at the Ted Williams baseball camp in Massachusetts, where I saw him over the summers for a span of years. I remember being put on and left off of weekend all star teams with him and just hanging out during those times. I was living in upstate New York at the time and when I later moved to Philadelphia I happened to run into him when my school, Chestnut Hill Academy, squared off against Lasalle. I was really surprised to see him and it was great reconnecting with him. Really great kid and I was happy to see his success. Now that I´ve been in and out of East Cobb for a number of years, I´m very sorry we never reconnected. I just wanted to share this. My prayers for the entire family. Rich Greenwood

I Met Jim at GT in the fall of 1985. We became roommates my senior year in 1986-87. He and Kim were dating at the time.
The thing I remember about Jim is that he was a very hard worker. He was majoring in engineering which was unheard of for GT athletes back then. He was constantly studying. He was a great roommate. He liked to keep things neat and where they should be. Maybe a bit ocd but a super nice guy ! Jim had a giving spirit. He would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it. From helping teammates with classes to being an incredible teammate/roommate Jim did everything the right way.

Jim and I worked out and threw together a few off seasons while he was still living in Baltimore, but pitching for Cleveland. Great memories of two lefties talking baseball and getting prepared, but more importantly talking about life with someone I looked up to and was striving to follow in his path. What an incredible work ethic and mind - such a great man. My condolences to the Poole Family - rest peacefully Jim.

We are so very sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. We can only hope he is happy playing ball in his "field of dreams" on the other side with his heroes. Godspeed Jimmy.
