Rose May (Kupec) Poole, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2025 with loving family by her side. Born on May 1, 1942, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Michael and Anna (Gavura) Kupec. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Poole, her parents, and her infant sister Mary Ann.
Rose's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family. Her spirit will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Rose grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1978 Rose and her family moved to Elyria, Ohio. In 2004 Rose and Jim moved to Cottage Grove, Minnesota to be with their daughter and granddaughter. She worked for many years at Fisher Foods in Cleveland and Elyria, Ohio. She also enjoyed working at the Hallmark store and Wal-Mart in Cottage Grove as it gave her the opportunity to meet and become friends with many lovely people.
Rose savored life's simple pleasures: the many pets she shared her life with, the flowers she grew and watching the birds in her yard. Her joy was found in the heart of her family gatherings and in the shared meals with those she loved. She was a doting grandmother and affectionate "Mimi" to her great-grandchildren. Trips to the casino and a good meal out were also things she enjoyed.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Poole; her cherished granddaughter, Jessica (Brian) Flotterud; and her adored great-grandchildren, Emma, Everett, and Ethan Flotterud. She is also survived by her siblings Rich (Barb) Kupec, Eleanor (Ron) Vojtech, Betty Bruna, Mike Kupec, brother-in-law Jerry (Joan) Rhodes along with many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM to honor and celebrate Rose's life will be held at St. Ambrose Church, Woodbury, MN, on Monday, October 6th. Interment will follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to everyone for your prayers, presence, and support during their time of bereavement, and would like to extend a special thanks to St. Croix Hospice and her dear friend Michele Willner.
