James Joseph Povick, 78, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on October 25, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio following a period of declining health. Born on April 21, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, he was a son the late Frances Irene Povick.

After his graduation from Dennison High School in 1965, Jim went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army. On March 31, 1973, Jim married the love of his life, Judith Kay (Doney) Povick, who survives him at their home. He was a supervisor in finance for G.M.A.C and worked throughout Stark County for many years. In his free time, he could be found fishing or working as an official for both high school and college-level basketball. Above all, Jim adored spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren who will miss him deeply.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by their sons, Scott Povick and Aaron Povick; grandchildren, Gavin Povick, Jael and Gabe McDade-Povick, Braxton Povick, and Braylon Povick; and a number of extended family members. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, John Povick, and his aunt, Mary Povick, as well as his mother.

Visitation for Jim will be held at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison, Ohio on Friday, October 31. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.
