James "Jimmy" Theo Pringels, 90, died Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Gardens of Sumter.
Born October 07, 1934, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Theofanis A. Pringels and the late Helen Touloupas Pringels. Mr. Pringels was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. He retired from his employment at the family-owned Rainbow Restaurant. Jimmy was loved by many. His sweet spirit captivated the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Ruby T. Pringels of Sumter; nieces, Susan Pringels Horton, of Sumter and Margaret Pringels of Panama City, Florida; great-nieces, Madisyn E. Horton of Austin, Texas and Ashlyn G. Horton of Chesapeake, Virginia; cousins: James "Jim" Pringle and wife, Jan, of Atlanta, Ga and Mary Ellen Pringle Turner of Columbia, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George T. Pringels, Johnny T. Pringels, Thomas "Pots" T. Pringels (Elsie N. Pringels) and Gus T. Pringels; a sister, Georgia H. Pringels; and a nephew, Theodore "Teddy" L. Pringels.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday July 20, 2025, in the Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at ElmoreCannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
