James Michael "Jim" Randell

James "Jim" Michael Randell, age 70, of Garrettsville, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025. He was born June 27, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a West Geauga graduate, belonging to the Class of 1972. Jim worked at the Gulf Station in Chester Township (and proudly wore his blue and orange Gulf pom-pom hat). He briefly served as an EMT before driving coast to coast as a trucker in the 1980's. After coming oU the road, Jim worked at Rick Kuntz Trucking until his retirement. He was a lifelong mechanic. Despite most of his travelling in a big rig for work, Jim's favorite travels were going north of the border to see his Canadian family in Searchmont. He was full of stories to share from the sights he saw (including the London Bridge in AZ and the Giant Peach in GA) to the experiences he had over the miles. Although Jim was stubborn in many ways, he wouldn't pass an opportunity to pull a prank for a laugh. He liked being witty with responses like 'I are here.' and 'Okay, fine.' Jim loved listening to classic country music and watching old Western movies.
Jim is survived by his children, Allyson (JeU) Owens-Kindlesparker of Nelson, Ohio, Tammy (Joe) Pavlic of Kinsman, Ohio, Christina (Joseph) Walsh of Middlefield, Ohio, Gary (Hollie) of Orwell, Ohio, and Richard (Kristy) of Sun City, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 2 greatgrandchildren and two more on the way; sisters, Marie (Larry) Vail, Cindy (Robert) Civic, Denise (Peter) McCabe; brother, William (Jack), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Randell, and his dear wife, Patricia (nee Keary) Randell.
Honoring James' wishes, cremation has taken place. Services for Jim were entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
Friends and family are invited to reminisce and share stories at his memorial reception Thursday, May 29, 2025, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., at Troy Township Community Center 13950 Main Market Road (Route 422) in Troy Township, OH.
