James William Ray, 71, a resident of West Memphis, departed this life, Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his sisters. He was born, March 13, 1953, in Blytheville, the son of John Loflin Ray and Naomi Jewell Carson Ray.
He was a 1971 graduate of West Memphis High School and worked in sales for Wellsco, Progeny, and other companies throughout the years, he retired to care for his aging mother. Jimmy led a simple life and was laid-back, friendly, outgoing, and had a good sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and the "Price is Right" on TV. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents: John and Naomi Ray, two brothers: John B. Ray, Mason B. Ray and one sister: Brenda Capps.
Survivors include his only child: James Ray, Jr. of Bella Vista, three sisters: Sharon Kanady and husband Boyd of Wynne, Kimberly Riggs and husband Neel of Blytheville, Becky Coker of West Memphis and one grandson: Derick Mason Ray of Bella Vista.
The family will hold a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
